The original identity for Designemergency was conceived and designed almost twelve years ago when the business was first established.

In those days ‘Lola’, who carries the primary imagery for the company, was inexperienced and somewhat alarmed at the frequency and apparent serious nature of the ‘emergencies’ she encountered. Her demeanour was fresh but somewhat conservative, her image a bit retro, a bit 50s. She would have been right at home at Sterling Cooper. Somewhere between prim Peggy Olson and the luscious Joan Holloway.

Over the years she has evolved. She’s appeared with a hibiscus behind her ear sipping a daiquiri at a beach resort. There was a time when she foolishly allowed herself to be seen with reindeer-antler headgear and a glowing nose for a holiday greeting. More than once she has been involved with all manner of snowflakes—including being trapped for some time in a snowdome.

Lola developed into a much more sophisticated gal, so it was time to update her identity. Her job is tricky. She needs to represent the high design standards of the creative recruitment agency side of the business, and also have the right sort of image for a business which undertakes a wide range of design and training projects.

We think her job has been made easier by the new livery;
we hope you agree.
